His name is Nick Givhan, Givhan is a boxer out of Kalamazoo, MI. the youngest in a family of nine, Givhan always scrapped with his brothers, often coming out on top, but it wasn't until he turned 17 that he thought of boxing as a profession. He Works at a moving company from 5 AM to 5 PM, He gets up at 4:30 AM, jog 2 miles, go to work until 5. Rest until about 6, and then it’s back in the gym. Basic workout until 6:30-9, jog 5 miles. “It wasn’t easy at first,” Nick admitted, “but I adapted. This is 7 days a week. I don’t believe in days off.”
Nick excelled in football, and had six amateur cage titles in the short span of eight and a half months, and his over the top personality and style in each sport is where he came up with the ring name “King Beamen.”
Givhan, or "King Beamen" as he calls himself — is a reference to Jamie Foxx's character from the movie "Any Given Sunday" — says that confidence is sometimes seen as cockiness, and that's just fine with him.
After a brief stint in mixed martial arts, he decided to pursue boxing in the pro ranks. He says he forgoes the usual temptations that people in their 20s gravitate toward.
His First 10 boxing Matches wins were 6 by TKO, 2 by KO and 2 by Unanimous Decision , but on March 23 of this year , Givhan suffered his first loss against Ivan Baranchyk by KO in the 1st round for the WBC super lightweight title.
