Glory, the world’s leading kickboxing promotion, announced last Tuesday that its Heavyweight Contender Tournament at Glory 35 next month is ready to go.
Romania’s Benjamin Adegbuyi (25-4, 16 KOS) has been added to the card to fight Hesdy Gerges (49-17-1, 23 KOs) to round out the one-night four-man tournament to determine who will be the No. 1 contender for heavyweight championship, currently held by Rico Verhoeven. The other half of the bracket will see Jahfarr Wilnis (29-7-1, 8 KOs) taking on Mladen Brestovac (50-11-1, 33 KOs).
Glory 35: Nice will be anchored by the lightweight championship between titlist Sittichai (112-29-5, 30 KOs) defending his crown against Marat Grigorian (48-9-2, 29 KOs). The previously-announced light heavyweight showdown between Zinedine Hameur-Lain and Pavel Zhuravlev will round out the main card, airs live on ESPN3 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on Nov. 5 from Nice, France.
Glory also announced last Tuesday that French natives Nicholas Wamba (46-7, 21 KOs) and Nordine Mahieddine (18-6, 11 KOs) will collide in a heavyweight battle to finalize the Glory 35 SuperFight Series undercard.
Headlining that portion of the event will be the light heavyweight title unification battle between reigning champ Artem Vakhitov and interim” titlist Zack Mwekassa. Rounding out the undercard will be a welterweight duel between Karim Benmansour and Eyevan Danenberg; Josh Jauncey will fight Dylan Salvador at lightweight; and the women’s super bantamweight grand prix continues as Amel Dehby will square off against Ji-Waen Lee.
The Glory 35 SuperFight Series streams lives and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, also on Nov. 5.
